FOOTBALL UNITED - A CELEBRATION OF TOGETHERNESS, Is a ground breaking football match featuring Premier League All-Stars; Former Champions League winners and Internationals, playing against ‘Rainbow Rovers’, a team comprised of LGBTQ+ sportspeople, activists and celebrities.
One of the most hi-profile mixed-gender matches ever played, Football United will kick off at Whitehawk FC’s TeraPura Ground in East Brighton at 3pm on the weekend of Brighton Pride, Sunday, August 4, with gates opening from 12:30pm.
The ex-Premier League All Star team features ex-players from Manchester United, Newcastle United Brighton & Hove Albion Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur and the LGBTQ+ team is player managed by transgender writer and broadcaster, Sophie Cook.
The match is a stand-alone event, and a donation will be made to the Rainbow Fund post match.
